When I first arrived the owner was working to prepare for the night crowd, very friendly lady. The host was also very polite and nice. The calamari was very good they give you quite a bit, but the marinara sauce is just OK, for the entree I had the Italian Fried Porkchop with a side of mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The porkchop was very juicy and well cooked, the potatoes were very good but not very hot, and i'm not big on mixed vegitables so i skipped out on those. All and all it was good food with a good staff!!

After reading several reviews we made the trip to Lisa's for breakfast. It was a bit of a walk from where we were staying but completely worth it. We had the banana's foster that everyone is raving about. It totally lives up to all the hype. It was delicious! We also had eggs, home fries, bacon, and sausage as well as a Bellini and a mimosa. All the food was good and the service was the best we've had since we've been in Madeira Beach. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of five stars is because of the dripping a/c units right next to our table and the street front location. This place would be awesome if it were beachfront instead of in front of the busy street. We also had a feathered visitor who repeatedly returned to grab up their jelly packets. It was kind of funny because this bird made several trips until they got wise and took the jelly caddy off of the table.

This place is so cute!! The food was amazing/the breakfast, mango Bellinis are now my favorite. Our server was awesome and super nice. Oh and the banana fosters=amazing

I was on vacation down in Madiera Beach, FL last week and I heard about this place from many locals. I had to make a visit before the trip was over. Lisa's was just a short 10 minute walk from John's Pass. Me and a friend walked down to it and we went inside. We first met Lisa, the woman behind all the magic. She greeted us warmly and quickly sat us outside, since the day was so beautiful already. We were then served by a man with a bit of a dry personality. He wasn't super friendly like Lisa but he quickly got us our drinks so we could enjoy them while looking at the menu. The menu has a great breakfast menu, which can sometimes be hard to find. I chose to Banana's Foster French Toast, which was also on a sign with specials so I knew it had to be a favorite. The food came out very efficiently. The French Toast was so warm and moist. Covered in a banana cream sauce, it looked to die for. It had a taste to match, it was warm, sweet and not too dry. The bananas on top were warm and had the banana cream sauce all over them as well. I was very impressed by how well it was prepared. I would definitely go back to Lisa's and I probably will seeing as I vacation to Madeira every year. Lisa was sweet, the restaurant was charming and I loved the food. Can't wait to go back and try something different. :)

I had high hopes for this quaint little seaside cafe, but atlas my hopes were slightly dashed. Out for a bike ride, needing a bit of energy, I stopped for a late breakfast. Always a sucker for corned beef hash, I went for it. While I think it was good it was really had to tell given the scant amount on my plate. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the home fries were good although I'm not sure they weren't frozen. I think I could have gone 4 star had the star of the show been present. Maybe next time through I stop for lunch or supper.

This place is pretty wonderful. We stopped in for breakfast just a little while after they opened. The menu is just big enough to have something for everyone -but not overwhelm you. Please trust me and get a mango belini or a mimosa with your meal. You will not be disappointed. Our server was efficient friendly and patient. We got the chicken & waffles, banana foster french toast, and the corn beef has special. All three were delicious and filling. I would order them again. All three plates, a mimosa, a bellini, and a few cups of coffee and our bill came to 44$ and some change.

We had breakfast here service was fast food was delicious BIG portions only 11 bucks and some of the best sausage gravy ever a definite recommend

Lisa's Cafe is a quaint little restaurant situated in Madeira Beach. The wait staff was super friendly and our coffee mugs were always full. I ordered a half order of the sausage gravy and biscuits--really flavorful! My husband ordered the chicken and waffles. The flavor was on point but the waffle was chewy and hard to cut? Overall it's a great little cafe that isn't overpriced!

We went there for breakfast. I had the best home fries and grits ever! The corn beef hash was delicious . Coffee was so flavorful and freshly brewed. Service was fast, attentive and friendly. A definite place to eat for breakfast! We want to go back soon and try their lunch/dinner items!

A friend and I went here this past Sunday for brunch around noon. The owner seats us at a table inside. Immediately once the waiter arrived I knew we would have an issue. Probably one of the most inattentive servers I have had. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my friend got the crab cake eggs Benedict. 30 minutes goes by and we hadn't been asked or told anything by the server, never asked if we wanted another drink or refill on water. 45 minutes goes by and still no food. A table outside who arrived after us got their food before we did. We could see the ticket counter where we were siting and in the mirror the waiter kept looking for our orders, and I over heard him tell the chef what we Ordered as if it hadn't been put in. No more than 10 minutes prior to that he told us our food was on the way and they were just waiting on my waffle ( how long does a waffle take to cook !?). 50-55 minutes in and our food finally comes out. Mine was perfect, however by friend crab cake eggs Benedict (which cost 20 dollars btw !!! She had no idea ) came out over cooked. When you pay that much for a meal it should be perfect , I'm sorry. I asked her if she wanted me to wave someone over to send it back but we had already waited so long for food. The manager/owner never came over to ask how our meal was and no compensation was made on the part of the waiter to fix the wrongs that we experienced except for some very weird tasting rye bread on the side that we didn't eat. All in all, it was an awful experience. I enjoyed my meal, but my friend , who paid twice as much for overcooked food was pretty mad. Plus the horribly long wait for food that seemed to be a mistake by the waiter/kitchen. We both left with a sour feeling from the experience. Go if you have an hour or 2 to kill waiting for food , just don't pay the ridiculous price for the crab cake bennie

The food was really good and so was the service. I got the low carb spinach and feta omelette and the serving size was great. It came with fresh strawberries and a couple wedges of orange. I recommend this to anyone. We sat outside and it is on the street but right across from the water.

We had breakfast there today and it was very good. Great homemade Hash and Home fries, eggs cooked perfect.
(5)
Kasi M.
The homemade hash is the best I've ever had and Lisa may be from the north but her biscuit and gravy can rival some of the best from the south. Not to mention she is the sweetest! You will feel right at home.

Not only is the food amazing, but the service is outstanding. Truly professional and 100% enjoyable. We stopped here each day for breakfast during our stay at Mad Beach. Thanks Lisa, Henry and the others!

Corned beef hash, 5 stars - flavor was huge even though the portion was a bit on the small side. This hash was some of the best I've ever had and I've had LOTS of corned beef. Seriously great. Cappuccino and double espresso, 5 stars - strong and smooth. Not bitter, not acidic, just right. Service was exceptionally friendly but food did take a while to come out. Not sure about ratings for the rest of our food as we had to leave in a hurry about 2 minutes after arrived (due to the little one). But the wife's waffle and the kid's French toast both looked great in the to-go containers! Toddler factor: Enough space for high chair outside, wait staff was crazy friendly and accommodating. Felt quite welcomed with our toddler. Owner immediately brought a banana for the kid and confirmed there's no smoking allowed at their front patio - thanks very much for that!

Probably best for breakfast. Ate there once for breakfast and once with takeout. Breakfast omelette was good standard fare, service was excellent and friendly. For take out we had the meatball app (too much bread but the sauce was okay), calamari (I like a lighter batter on the calamari, this one was a bit heavy for me), grouper oscar was just okay--too much bread in the crab and too heavy, but then again, this isn't a light dish. The place is convenient and the staff friendly.

Horrible service. Waiter is rude, waited 10 minutes after I sat before I could order coffee, another 10 for the coffee. Even if the food is mind blowing, I won't be back.

We found this gem purely by a happy accident. Lisa is incredible- she gladly describes the entire menu, seats you, serves you water and will bring you anything you need. The ambience is incredible-quiet, romantic, but not uncomfortably so, with great standards from Sinatra, Ella et al playing in the background. As for the food- you will NEVER have any better or more lovingly prepared, with an eye to detail on every aspect. My filet was the best I've ever eaten and could have been cut with a fork alone. The Salmon is flown in fresh daily - and you can tell. The Hollandaise sauce is perfection! All is expertly prepared, with the perfect accompaniment. If you are looking for a high-class, non bar-scene, but still relaxed atmosphere, with near-gourmet level offerings, try Lisa's. You will not be disappointed.

Wow. Totally amazing. We came for thanksgiving dinner but took a right turn for more Florida traditional dishes. Crab stuffed shrimp and grouper Oscar out of this world. Would recommend to anyone. Father-in-law went turkey dinner, it was great too.

We dropped in for lunch as we were driving by. Almost went to bubba gumps, but very glad we didn't. Lisa's was delicious. I have never seen french fries like that, but my goodness they were good. Favorite restaurant of the vacation so far.

The management/owner was incredibly rude and our experience was indescribable. We will never come to this place again nor would we ever recommend this place to others. The owner should be ashamed of herself and how she treats her customers, it was reprehensible. There are many places in this beautiful area that will gladly accept your business elsewhere, therefore just keep moving on.

Had breakfast here today. Was seated right away with a party of 9. I'm not a fan of corned beef and hash, but 1 person in our party tried it and said it was really good. I tried the biscuits and gravy. If you like it spicy and hearty, then you will not be disappointed. My wife is still raving about the Bloody Mary. Nice and spicy, which is how she likes them. Service was good, my glass was always full. Only 2 small issues keep this from being a 5 star rating. 1) My daughter wanted to order lunch which the menu says starts at 11. It was after 11 and she was told they were only doing breakfast. 2) it was a little warm and stuffy in there for before noon. Maybe they just had not cranked the a/c up yet, but it made it a little hard to linger. Overall, well worth the trip. I am certain we will return.

Amazing food and great service with Charles! Eggs Benedict with crab meat and corn beef hash omelets were delicious! The bellinis were yummy too! Must try if you are in the area for breakfast!

We had a wonderful breakfast here last year and came back for supper this year. The Grouper Oscar and the Oscar Sirloin were fabulous! Really delicious! Not a big place, not a fast place. But the owner and staffer were very friendly. When I came back two days later for a take-out meal, the waiter remembered me and was very helpful. And the ice tea is really great!

If you are in the St Petersburg Florida area and don't go to Lisa's, you are missing out on an amazing experience. The food is five star and the service matches the food. It is difficult to find but well worth keeping your eyes peeled for the sign on Gulf Blvd just down from John's Pass.

Came here for breakfast. There were only a few other tables there at the time, and server was nice and seemed to be attentive. We arrived at 10:45, ordered our food at 10:50. Great right? Not really. Food arrived at EVELEN TWENTY-FIVE!!! You must be thinking we ordered complicated things. Nope. We ordered two croissant sandwiches with egg, cheese and bacon, and one order of French toast. After it had already been about 20, Server came by and said it would be out in a minute. Still took another 15, come on now. At this point, I seriously would've hoped the manager/owner would've comped one of the meals or given us something for this extremely long wait. I wanted to leave but others at my table didn't. The food was pretty good, and that's why they're getting more stars than they really deserved. I will try this one more time but definitely will take my time to come back.

Discovered a gem this morning! Lisa's Cafe of Madiera Beach offers many delicious choices but I strongly recommend the Crab-cake Eggs Benedict for breakfast, YUM! The crab and hollandaise were fantastic! Next time just gotta try the Bananas Foster Cinnamon French Toast. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, great service too.

Ordered the blackened grouper, tasty but way over priced. 17 for a grouper? For lunch? Not worth it. That's the price of a full entree not a lunch. Server got our beer order wrong. Go down the road to Mad beach fish house. Much better ask for Eileen she's the best!!!

We found this place out of necessity as we woke up late on a Saturday and everywhere else had really long lines. They have indoor and outdoor seating, which was nice and we did get to meet Lisa herself. Unfortunately, they were short handed so the wait for everything was a bit long, but the food was very good.

I am sure the food would have been wonderful... The greeting and the service of the water completely turned us off. The gentleman pulled the napkin out of the glass and threw it down on the table. It was strange. Then wonderful Lisa appeared. She seemed to honor her chef and the abilities to make great food. Sorry Lisa, get better staff.

Came here for lunch.....YUMMY! We had 2 different burgers and a crab cake sandwich everything was SUPER fresh and tasty, the sauce with the crab cake was delish, even the pickle was extra good, french fries were made from fresh potatoes, not the frozen kind. The place, the service, food was AWESOME...we will be back for sure!

Been in St Pete for 5 years - never been to this restaurant. We will be back very soon! Only gave it 4 stars as I only have given very few ever 5 - that being said - food great - ambiance good - service fantastic. If you want local - go go go!!!! If you care about the food and service - go!!!!

Lisa greeted us at the door as other reviewers said she does. The place is nicely decorated and laid out. Service was OK, a little attitude, but tolerable. The food was very good. I got the corn beef hash which is the best I've ever had. Lisa same over and asked how things were, I said portions were a little small where she responded I'd have to charge extra. She feels her portions are in-line with the quality and her costs, which I can't argue with. I'd rather have a great meal and pay a little more and get smaller serving. All in all, prices were a little on the high side. Food quality was excellent. Lisa is very warm and friendly, waitress service was just OK. We would go back when we're in the area again.

Great food every time we go! This is a great spot with outside seating for romantic nights. Crab cakes are delicious and the pasta is rich in flavor! The owner will make sure to make her way around to the table to make sure your meal is nothing less than great!

I love coming here, the food is always great. I've been here for brunch and for dinner. Pork chops are one of my favs as is the grouper oscar. For brunch anything on the menu-hash, eggs Benedict, southern Benedict, biscuits and gravy. All very good choices. The service is occasionally a little off, but the food is def 5 stars!

Lisa greeted us at the door. After quickly seating us, she explained their mouth watering signature dishes and specials. My husband chose the NY strip special while I decided in the Espresso Crusted Filet. The service was attentive and professional yet friendly and comfortable. The food was delectable! I have not had a meal this tasty in a long while. The prices are average for the beach for a delicious meal but a bit higher than you might pay inland. Overall, it was worth it. We will definitely go back!
(5)

Extremely friendly - owner usually on premises. We've been for brunch on two occasions. The food was excellent, as was the service. Everything is fresh, as if your Mom was in the kitchen making something special just for you. Location is convenient to everything in or near Madeira Beach. (Because of regulations -- it was explained, dogs are not permitted at the outdoor cafe tables. So not dog friendly. However on a ""cool"" winter day when car windows could be left open, we could park our car very near our table in adjacent parking lot and keep an eye on our fur child - of course with his own bowl of water & snack).

Enjoyed having breakfast today even though it was 1 in the afternoon. Plus if you enjoy mimosas, you can get one for $2.00. Ordered eggs, bacon, potatoes and wheat toast. Delivery of food was quick and painless. Located in Mad Beach across from the beach and within walking distance of John's Pass. They offer coupons/discounts to returning customers.

Based on some of the other reviews I have to think that we showed up on the wrong day. We walked in with our 3 kids and stroller and the first thing we heard was, "You cannot bring that stroller in here." We parked it outside and sat down. We didn't get menus until a waiter finally came over to take our order then realized we had no menus. The place was practically empty but it took a good 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Our 2 orders of french toast, waffle, and biscuits & gravy were all over cooked, the biscuits and gravy were overcooked and overly salty. I am not one to send food back, but I sent back the waffle. It was replaced with a waffle cooked just past raw. We ordered juice (no alcohol) for everyone and drinks alone were $15 - $3 for a kids juice?! The side orders of meat were very small (1 piece of bacon & 2 sausage links). We left feeling like we got ripped off. We ordered 4 things (one of which was oatmeal) and the bill was over $50. If you have a car, drive yourself up to Clear Sky Cafe in Clearwater Beach. It's worth the ride. We left Lisa's thinking of Clear Sky; a perfect beach front breakfast place we visited on our last visit to the area.

We had a wide variety of food from pork chops to crab Mac & cheese to grouper. Appetizers were great as well. Nice ambience. We are indoors, but they had outdoor seating available. Sangria was tasty. Waitress was great. All in all, a very enjoyable dinner experience for our group of 6 that spanned three generations.

Very friendly people! They really take pride in their food. When I asked what they were known for, the owner responded with, "If anything wasn't marvelous, it wouldn't be on the menu". Super fresh food... I got the grouper ruben - almost fell out of my chair it was so good ;-) If you're in town, definitely check out Lisa's!

Do NOT be deceived by the quaint patio...this place is EXQUISITE!!! Bananas foster french toast is not just good, it melts in your mouth with the perfect combo of flavors. The sausage gravy is not for wimps! It was the best we've tasted anywhere along this beach coast..from Clearwater to Pass-a-Grille anyway! We will DEFINITELY be back for lunch AND dinner the next time we come over the bridge!! KUDOS to you, Lisa & all the wonderful staff!
(5)

Yummy! Love Lisa's breakfast!! Only been there once for dinner and it was great! As a matter of fact it was on Valentines Day and they have a very unique way of servicing slot of patrons by selecting a large groups of patrons at select times to insure everyone gets excellent service! A+

ok, lets get this straight... the service here is fine... the food here is GREAT!!. If you think the service has an attitude then you are TOO sensitive. The women who owns it is from NJ. Relax. She is very friendly and so are her sons.... Very NY kinda of vibe which is nice. And the food is quality. Not like the rest of the restaurants on the beach that cater to tourists and its garbage. Enjoyed it. Will be back!

Any place where the owner happily does every job - even clearing plates and filling water - is a good one. Apparently she also helps cook. Lisa is usually around and the rest of the team is just as skilled. This is a terrific spot and the food is good too! Can't go wrong.

Excellent food and service. Salads with shrimp and orange cilantro dressing were delicious. Creme Brule was excellent too.

Fantastic! We were here on vacation and a local resident recommended Lisa's Cafe to us for dinner. Thank goodness we went! Lisa greeted us at the door, introduced our waiter and checked back regularly to see if everything was OK. We had one person that didn't like salad, and Lisa offered to bring him something different - which was awesome. The Grouper Oscar was delicious, as were the steak and chicken parmesean. Service was great and the amount of food for the price was more than reasonable. This is a great local eatery that I would recommend to anyone. I'll be coming back next time I'm in the area!

We seated ourselves outside as you need reservations for in doors. So plan ahead as otherwise you will eat car fumes and talk loudly over the traffic. There were 4 of us ..Two adults and two teenagers. We were addressed by a waiter who said someone would be with us shortly...which was like five minutes. Someone finally did greet us it was the owner..Lisa. she told us about the menu and started to walk away. We had to stop her and ask that she get our drinks. The waiter, Ben, then proceeded to wait on another table before us. I don't even think he knew we there. Service was slow and we had to ask for our plates to be cleared. Lisa walked by and didn't help clear nor did the other waiters help each other. I did give this feedback to the waiter when we were paying our bill. He then said they were short staffed as they had a waiter call in. Hello....business 101 ....close some tables or help each other out. We arrived at about 6 and had to ask for our bill at 0730. The sad thing is the food was really great.

Two different experiences, one a 5 star, one a 3, leads me to average the experience to a 4. The 5 star experience was going for breakfast around 10:45 on a Friday. The waitress was extremely nice while not being too annoyingly chatty. On a 'I'm on vacation' whim, I ordered the biscuits and gravy. Which. Were. Phenomenal. Best gravy I've ever had, with big chunks of sausage in it. YUM. High on this experience, I took my parents back there the same night for dinner. The menu looked yummy, though my amazing $7-10 breakfast prices had been replaced with $24-32 prices I'm used to seeing in Manhattan took me aback here. Everything was very good, but not outstanding, our waiter was kind of gruff (turns out it's the owners son so no surprise there) and Lisa herself came out to say hi, which is usually great, but we felt a little bullied into saying we liked everything since she was kinda pushy. Solid place, but go for breakfast!

Had a very nice dinner here on a rainy night. We wanted a place that was not a loud, drunken beach bar like so many around here, so we choose Lisa's. The food was very good. Everything was made from fresh not frozen ingredients, and tasted home made. I had the 8 oz filet mignon ($23) which came with carrots and mashed potatoes, and my husband had lasagne ($21) which came with salad, along with a glass of the house wine. The salad dressing was Asian-flavored, with sesame oil and cilantro...a little weird with lasagne. We were fully satisfied, and didn't have room for dessert. We would dine here again. She also serves breakfast but we didn't try it.

Found Lisa's this morning while looking for a new place to have breakfast. We were running late to the breakfast cut off time, I called and Lisa (the owner) answered and said she would be happy to keep breakfast open for us. Saw some good reviews and have to say after eating here, they were all spot on. Amazing breakfast, great staff and a very hands on owner.

My family and I went to Lisa's Cafe tonight for a nice family meal, but what we got instead was disappointing food, drinks, and service. We were told that we could be seated within twenty minutes, but instead we waited over an hour before we got a table. During that time we sat at the bar and ordered drinks. Something was wrong with their carbonation, so the sodas were totally flat and undrinkable. The beers my parents ordered were soured and flat as well. I ordered the New England Clam Chowder as my appetizer, and it was by far the WORST clam chowder I've ever had. Not only was it bland, it was extremely watery-- not at all thick and creamy like clam chowder is supposed to be. For my entree I ordered the penne alla vodka with chicken-- I figured it wouldn't be possible to screw up such a simple dish, right? Wrong! It literally tasted like a lean cuisine. The chicken was dry and tasteless, and the sauce tasted worse than from a jar. I ate maybe ten bites because I was starving, but it was barely edible. I had been planning on ordering dessert, but since the appetizers and dinner had been awful, I didn't risk it. My mom decided to brave the blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream, and sadly it was terrible. The ice cream was freezer burned and had a funky texture from the ice crystals. The cobbler had obviously been microwaved and had a weird, goopy consistency, like it had congealed after being brought to a boil by the microwave. We all tried it and unanimously disliked it. In addition to the bad food, the service was awful-- or maybe a better word would be non-existant! We would order drinks, ask for napkins, request silverware, and the requested items would simply never come. My dad never got the cocktail sauce he asked for with his fish, and said he wouldn't bother asking again because it would take 30 minutes to get to him anyway, if at all! Overall, we paid over $120 for an absolutely AWFUL meal. I couldn't even enjoy a diet pepsi since the carbonation wasn't working (and they didn't have any canned soda-- I asked). I highly recommend you avoid this overpriced restaurant unless you like throwing away your money on inedible dishes.

I made a call here because the phone number was listed as someone's employer... When I asked to speak to this person, the lady on the end said, "What" I repeated the name I was calling for. She sounded aggravated with me and shouted, "This is Lisa's Cafe! GOODBYE!!!" I suggest the staff and owner has a quick meeting about proper phone manners because unfortunately if someone ever mentions this restaurant again, this will be my first impression. And you know what they say about first impressions :)

I am very impressed with both Lisa herself, and the food. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that sometimes the service can be a little slow. This is not a deal breaker for me but I know that it is for many people. What made me a fan is that on my first visit, Lisa welcomed me immediately and made me feel at home. This is NOT something I find much, anywhere I go. Most of the time, you are greeted in a pedestrian manner. When you sit at a bar, your food & beverage is delivered to you, but I wouldn't call it service. Staff make no attempt to engage in conversation or find out anything about you. When in a tourist area, I think it's very important to have friendly staff. You want the tourists to feel welcome, but you also want to encourage regulars who live there year round, so that your business doesn't die out in the off seasons. So Lisa impressed me so much that I returned the following day with a friend, and she agreed that Lisa is amazing and we enjoy the food. We go there when our budgets permit. I hope Lisa's stays around for a very long time.

Found this from yelp. Great service. Food was good did not recieve what we should have. 1.5 pieces of bacon per order menu said 3.husbands option said included toast and home fries received neither. An expensive breakfast

Great place. We walked in about 11:15 for breakfast and although they stop breakfast at 11 they were all about taking care of us they made our breakfast which was great and had excellent service as well great place everyone should try!
This is a great breakfast place! In town for vacation and wanted to find a good place to get the day started. Coffee was great, as was the breakfast sandwich. Lisa, herself, was our server and gave us A+ service. I would definitely come back here! Great food, great atmosphere and friendly service. Doesn't get better than that!

Good food. Nice folks. One of the few low key restaurants in the area where you can get good food that isn't fried. I'll go back. I had white sea bad with a lime bernaise sauce. My wife had the shrimp and cheddar grits. Both were excellent. Good beer list of 12 micro brews. Kids meals were pretty weak.

Cinnamon French Toast was Da Bomb!!! Seriously, really great breakfast. Very filling and they were able to accommodate our large group. Very clean and the staff was friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Great little place with good coffee, nice people, fast Internet, and comfortable seats. Only one star off as they charged us 4 bucks for a side of 4 tomato slices :/

We visited Lisa's cafe twice with our two small kids (age 3 and 1) and we got a very good service. We were there for a Sunday brunch with a very hungry daughter and Lisa immediately spotted a hungry child and brought a banana for her - that is just the best! We were also there a week later for dinner and it was really delicious - and once again it was no problem to bring children.
My fiancee and I had breakfast hear after hearing great reviews about this place. We were seated and then waited, then a other people were seated. we had a drink order and wanted to order food. The waiter appeared but took orders from other people that were seated after us. then we got to order. we watch four more groups of people seat themselves and get their food well before we did. We waited and hour for food. About ready to walk out our food arrived. The food was ok, very dry french toast, my egg ordered over easy and were well done. Also we thought the prices were high for what you got. Will not eat here again.

I am a local on Madeira Beach, so I have had the chance to eat at Lisa's Cafe many times. We hated the restaurant - Grecko Grill - that was in that location before Lisa's, because it was overpriced and the food was terrible; so we were happy to see a new owner take over the place and make such great changes. Here is my review: Service - At first the service was a bit spotty, but I gave them another chance since I knew that it was a new restaurant, and because even from the start the food was GREAT! By the second visit, the service had already improved and since then I have always had prompt, attentive service. Lisa, the owner, is always there, and she makes sure that every table is being taken care of. Atmosphere - Eclectic and casual, a couple of TVs are going but no sound. Very comfortable as you might expect from a restaurant across the street from the beach. Food - This has been GREAT right from the start. I have tried many of the items on the menu and they are all excellent. Here are a few of my favorites: * Eggs Benedict * Ruben Sandwich * Hamburger * Meatloaf special * Ribs Special * Tilapia * Grouper * New York Strip The quality of the food is due mostly to Chef Dave. Hang on to him Lisa, he's amazing! Lisa also serves beer and wine, and she makes a great cappuccino. Price - Lisa has a wide range of prices for you, from a $5.95 breakfast special to a $39.95 Surf and Turf, but most dinner items are in the $12 to $15 range. She also has a dinner special which Is around $9 which is what I usually choose Lisa's is a welcome addition to the beach and I strongly recommend that you give it a try when you're in the area. Lisa will be there to greet you and make sure that you enjoy your dining experience.
Been wanting to try this place since I had one of Lisa's Crab Cakes at last years "Taste of Redington". Sorry I waited so long !! We had heard good things about Lisa's - especially the breakfast; but we settled in for dinner last night and were not disappointed . On the servers suggestion, we both had the Filet. Teresa had the regular Filet and I opted for the Espresso Filet. Our Server said the filet was so tender you could "cut it with a butter knife". I have heard that before and never really experienced it until last night. It was the most tender filet I have ever had and the espresso sauce was nice. A little sweet for my taste but well worth the investment. If I had to knock the place it would be on ambiance, pretty dark inside but that might work well on date night. So Lisa's makes our list of Go To places on the beach. Next time we try the fish!

We decided to eat here this morning for breakfast. I ordered the pancakes and bacon. The pancakes were delicious. Big and fluffy and filled me up. The bacon was good but thought It was a little overpriced for three small strips - cost $5. My boyfriend ordered the ham and cheese omelette and home fries. He said the omelette was fantastic ! He only wishes he would have known that the homefries came with green peppers and onions because he would have ordered without . Overall the food was great. The service was kind of so so.

Breakfast was so good that we almost ate here every morning! If it's a beautiful day, I encourage you to eat outside. The service was excellent and the food was delicious!!! I had a spinach and feta omelette served with a side of strawberries, with an additional side order of corned beef hash. Unbelievable!
Just got done having a fantastic dinner at Lisa's Cafe. I truly enjoyed my macadamia nut crusted grouper on top of a bed of white rice with a orange wine butter cream sauce. Delicious! The crab cakes were perfectly cooked with a light brown crispy outside and moist tasty crab on the inside. The service was great. They went over the menu for us and came back to check on us many times. Happen to stumble on this place and plan on going back to try their breakfast or lunch.

I really enjoyed Lisa's. Made a reservation before dinner with Lisa. Was greeted at the door by Lisa. Enjoyed spirited repartee at the table with Lisa. Received a couple recommendations from Lisa. Was visited several times during my visit by Lisa. And Danny was my waiter... To say this restaurant has Lisa's DNA all over it would be an understatement. She does everything, and she does it well. Lisa developed many of the dishes and virtually all of the signature dishes. Lisa's got just about everything as close to right as you can get. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 are - no full bar (limited wine list - but good choices) and more hollandaise sauce on my entree than necessary (but the Grouper Lisa was still very good). Danny made excellent recommendations without being pushy and did I mention that Lisa was very attentive? My single biggest pet peeve at most restaurants is receiving lukewarm or cold food. My meal at Lisa's was fresh and hot. No sitting under the heat lamp because the kitchen doesn't know how to properly time everything. My entire meal was hot, just like it's supposed to be. I will definitely go back when I am in the area. I had a great time and a way above average meal. Kudos to Lisa for getting it right.

We rode our scooters here for brunch one Sunday. I thought it was really delicious and just the right amount! Corned beef hash was great although a bit salty which is typical. When that happens, I mix it with my unsalted eggs and that cuts the saltiness. $1.95 mimosas after 11:00! Lisa comes around to all the tables chatting and asking how the food is. I think that is really smart business savvy and she is funny in a NYC kind of way which I find refreshing. Very comfortable seating inside away from the traffic on Gulf Blvd. I would put the parking out front and the outdoor seating where the parking is but maybe she had no choice in the matter. We will be back soon for brunch!

When we first decided to try Lisa's on kind of a whim for breakfast on a Saturday, I was enthusiastic. I like small intimate places like this and it gave me a good feeling. Lisa was very personable and we felt at home. Excellent coffee and good mimosas. We both ordered omelets, mine a spinach and Swiss ( I think) and my wife's was a Denver omelet,or something close to it.. I have come to expect that my omelet will be of a certain variety in America, certainly not up to French standards where the cuisine treats the humble egg in the most amazing way. Thus I was stunned when I tasted this omelet and found it to be wonderful. As my wife always orders her eggs well-done (and this often results in some things which I would never eat myself) I quickly asked if I might taste hers. Although cooked more thoroughly, it was still tender and light, just as it should be. I was very impressed and hence the 4 stars. We did eat lunch there twice at a later date and the second time was not nearly as good as the first, my wife's crab cakes tasting a bit off and dry and they seemed to have been made with claw meat, something I think is just plain wrong. My Mahi that day was ok, but it lacked excitement. We started to mention this to Lisa, but she wasn't really listening, telling us how great the crab cakes were. Maybe they are, according to what others say on their reviews, but that day they were substandard and my fish was unmemorable. We were hoping for a reason to return for dinner, but a mediocre experience kind of turns you off. Hence these 4 stars are based only on the several great breakfasts we had there. I hope our second lunch was an anomaly, but we have moved on to better values.

Lisa is great - enthusiastic about the food in her restaurant. We had the grouper, clams and crab mac and cheese-excellent! A definite place to go- we will go back.

Staff was pleasant and friendly! We sat outside under an umbrella for brunch and it was great! Food was freshly prepared and visually appealing. My friends loved the omelets they had and my breakfast croissant with provolone, bacon and egg was perfect!

Great food. We ate there during a trip to St. Petersburg. The espresso-crusted filet and crab cakes are not to be missed. My husband loved the crab mac-n-cheese. The owner was there and made sure everyone was happy.

We visited Lisa's for lunch one day. The place was dead. Food was pricey for what it is. Service was alright. Burgers are very good here, salads are okay. Overall, food was good but not worth the price. For the three of us at lunch it was around 60$.

We wish we'd found this place sooner, it's terrific! The service was excellent on both our visits, clean, clean restrooms, and Lisa comes around to greet you. We had dinner once; the cheese ravioli w/ Lisa's marinara was awesome. Kids meals earned "10 million stars" and the burger was as big as the child's head! Lemon chicken was tender and flavorful; and the homemade meatloaf was a hit! For breakfast, kids meals were generous; as were the 2.99 pancake and 3.99 egg/meat/toast specials. Only drawback was the food took a while to prepare, but hey, this is not fast food! If we were locals, we'd be regulars, 'nuf said!

We found this via yelp and were pleased the reviews were so good. Lisa ran through the menu choices and I'm glad we listened. The food is the best we have had - didn't get a look in to try my son's piece of chocolate cake! For the truly excellent food I thought very reasonably priced. Hope to go again soon.

Really wish we had a better local breakfast place on the beach. 45 minutes to get an egg and toast then had to ask for the potatoes that went along with my breakfast and had to wait for them.... My husband & I have to go off Gulf Blvd because we have eaten at every cafe and diner and nothing can top the customer service and food service 1 mile down the road. Sad because we go out every Sunday for breakfast after our walk on the beach and we would not have to get in our car if they improve.

The food was delicious. We went for dinner. The service was outstanding. The owner was very nice and involved in our experience. Had the pecan encrusted salmon with bourbon glaze and the grouper oscar, terrific. The crab cakes are outstanding.

Outstanding! Have lived nearby for a long time, and for whatever reason, just never went. That wrong will be righted after today. Outstanding meal, service, ambience. Everything we had was fresh, fresh, fresh, made from scratch and with great care. As a Baltimorean, I cannot wait to try Lisa's crabcakes -- she says they're the real deal. I'm usually skeptical of any crabcake not created in the state or by one from Maryland, but after today, I could become a true believer! Why did we wait for so long?

Lisa was warm and welcoming. The service was good. Grouper was fluffy and delicious. Kid friendly with a nice menu makes lisas cafe a winner in our book...plus we were seated right away instead of standing in line at a chain.

this place is scam- They owner writes her own reviews all day long in her restaurant. She is rude and very aggressive , the food was nothing special to terrible. Lisa greets us when we come to sell us the most expensive items on her menu. Stay way from this place : (

Went to Lisa's when we were in town in July. Lisa's is a great spot to get a good breakfast or excellent dinner. Went for breakfast before going jet skiing and it was great. Lisa waited on us and is so nice. She invited us to come back for dinner, which we did and it was excellent. Had the fillet. Cooked to perfection and the drinks were good also. Lisa came by and recommended her homemade cobbler, it was truly outstanding. We will be back in July 2011 and we plan on having dinner there a few times. I would much rather go to a local cafe than some franchised rest. I also was in town in Oct with a friend and we dined at Lisa's and she loved the food so much that when she returns in Nov. With her husband she is taking him there to dine. Keep up the good work Lisa, and we will see you in July..

This is a review of high expectations unfulfilled. After reading the great reviews, we decided to go and see it for ourselves during our trip to Madeira Beach for Thanksgiving. We chose to sit outside since we had our 3 kids with us. There was PLENTY of outdoor seating. We were asked if we had a reservation (we did not) and were told we'd have to wait a couple of minutes (not sure why). We then were seated but given no menus. About 5 minutes later with unsuccessful attempts to get the waitresses attention to ask for menus, the owner walked by and noticed that we had not received them and promptly got them. At this point my wife realized she had left something in the condo next door where we stayed so I offered to order our drinks and appetizers while she went to get it. 15 minutes later my wife returned, during which the waitress continued to actively avoid us. We clearly took the hint, stood up and left and went to Middle Grounds Grill where we rang up a $120 tab and tipped $30. Sorry Lisa. I hope it was just a bad waitress, but it will take a lot for me to give this a second chance.

Outstanding lunch experience. We were greeted by the owner, Lisa, who helped us park, then she walked us in. Great customer service. The four of us, two couples, had great meals -- crab cake appetizer, seafood basket, grouper sandwiches, turkey club -- all reasonably priced, fast & friendly service. Came back for breakfast next day -- omelets & blueberry pancakes --- they wre excellent and also very well priced. Lisa, the owner, had coffee with us for a few minutes. Great meals, excellent value, and friendliness that makes you want to come back to Lisa's Cafe. Will we go back?... absolutely!

(3)Elizabeth O.
(4)Mark T.
We had breakfast here service was fast food was delicious BIG portions only 11 bucks and some of the best sausage gravy ever a definite recommend
(5)Noelle L.
(3)Sandy W.
We went there for breakfast. I had the best home fries and grits ever! The corn beef hash was delicious . Coffee was so flavorful and freshly brewed. Service was fast, attentive and friendly. A definite place to eat for breakfast! We want to go back soon and try their lunch/dinner items!
(5)Angie W.
Have passed here several times when we were here for trips. I could kick my self. Food was fresh and delicious. Lisa was great. Best food I've had on this trip. We will be back.

We always go to Lisa's when we are in town. She is very friendly and the meals are always great. The espresso filet mignon is to die for!!!!!!!
(5)Elyse B.
(2)Sophia C.
The food was really good and so was the service. I got the low carb spinach and feta omelette and the serving size was great. It came with fresh strawberries and a couple wedges of orange. I recommend this to anyone. We sat outside and it is on the street but right across from the water.
(5)Harley T.
We had breakfast there today and it was very good. Great homemade Hash and Home fries, eggs cooked perfect.
(5)Kasi M.
The homemade hash is the best I've ever had and Lisa may be from the north but her biscuit and gravy can rival some of the best from the south. Not to mention she is the sweetest! You will feel right at home.
(5)Nate G.
Not only is the food amazing, but the service is outstanding. Truly professional and 100% enjoyable. We stopped here each day for breakfast during our stay at Mad Beach. Thanks Lisa, Henry and the others!
(5)Scott M.
(5)G B.
(2)Trish B.
Horrible service. Waiter is rude, waited 10 minutes after I sat before I could order coffee, another 10 for the coffee. Even if the food is mind blowing, I won't be back.
(1)Michelle T.
(5)Jennifer N.
Wow. Totally amazing. We came for thanksgiving dinner but took a right turn for more Florida traditional dishes. Crab stuffed shrimp and grouper Oscar out of this world. Would recommend to anyone. Father-in-law went turkey dinner, it was great too.
(5)Justin T.
We dropped in for lunch as we were driving by. Almost went to bubba gumps, but very glad we didn't. Lisa's was delicious. I have never seen french fries like that, but my goodness they were good. Favorite restaurant of the vacation so far.
(5)Marty S.
Stopped by for early dinner, Megan was my server. She is great!!! Crab cake appetizer was good, and blackened Grouper was fabulous. Megan will enhance the experience when you stop by.
(4)V B.
(1)Chris A.
(4)Kyle M.
Food was good but I don't need to go back. Biscuits and gravy was good...spicy. Eggs seemed from a carton. Excellent service though!
(3)Nicole V.
Amazing food and great service with Charles! Eggs Benedict with crab meat and corn beef hash omelets were delicious! The bellinis were yummy too! Must try if you are in the area for breakfast!
(5)Beth R.
(5)Di C.
If you are in the St Petersburg Florida area and don't go to Lisa's, you are missing out on an amazing experience. The food is five star and the service matches the food. It is difficult to find but well worth keeping your eyes peeled for the sign on Gulf Blvd just down from John's Pass.
(5)Alex Z.
(2)Jacqueline K.
(5)Melissa L.

(3)Kristina P.
(1)Richard S.
Great Grouper Reuben. You have to try it! The Owner Lisa is very sweet and accommodating.
(5)Helen M.
(5)Wendy P.
Been in St Pete for 5 years - never been to this restaurant. We will be back very soon! Only gave it 4 stars as I only have given very few ever 5 - that being said - food great - ambiance good - service fantastic. If you want local - go go go!!!! If you care about the food and service - go!!!!
(4)Brad K.
(3)Mark M.
Great food every time we go! This is a great spot with outside seating for romantic nights. Crab cakes are delicious and the pasta is rich in flavor! The owner will make sure to make her way around to the table to make sure your meal is nothing less than great!
(5)Sheila D.
(4)Kate V.
(5)Karen T.
(5)Marta L.

(1)Brad C.
Saturday memosas for $2 are awesome. Staff are really friendly and amazing prices for the quality.
(5)Greg A.
(5)Chris D.
(5)Chris C.
A+ all around. Crab Mac & cheese and crab cake sandwhich are both tops! Lisa the owner is a gem. Nobody leaves unhappy if she can help it :~)
(5)Paul M L.
Had the best breakfast there, the Bananas Forster French toast is to die for :)
(5)Joanne B.
(5)Scott K.
Yummy! Love Lisa's breakfast!! Only been there once for dinner and it was great! As a matter of fact it was on Valentines Day and they have a very unique way of servicing slot of patrons by selecting a large groups of patrons at select times to insure everyone gets excellent service! A+
(5)Ric C.
ok, lets get this straight... the service here is fine... the food here is GREAT!!.
(5)Lee M.
Any place where the owner happily does every job - even clearing plates and filling water - is a good one. Apparently she also helps cook. Lisa is usually around and the rest of the team is just as skilled. This is a terrific spot and the food is good too! Can't go wrong.
(5)constance p.
Excellent food and service. Salads with shrimp and orange cilantro dressing were delicious. Creme Brule was excellent too.
(5)Lisa L.
(5)Ann W.

(4)C S.
(4)Jim D.
(5)Pia M.
Great place for breakfast... Biscuit & Gravy is a must to have and don't miss the corn beef hash... It is delicious! Lisa welcomes you and the staff is super friendly.
(5)Kelly K.
(1)Debra B.
Was really delicious! Took previous reviewers advice and got the grouper Ruben.... Did not disappoint! Lisa recommended the fried grouper for my wife and that was great too!!!!! We were the only ones there and it was great!
(5)Charlotte S.
(1)DeliLama D.
Disappointing. Eggs were runny and service was sub standard
(2)Melk M.
Awesome place and the service is great but the food, the food is amazing!!
(5)Kelley K.
(4)Heather F.
Found this from yelp. Great service. Food was good did not recieve what we should have. 1.5 pieces of bacon per order menu said 3.husbands option said included toast and home fries received neither. An expensive breakfast
(3)Brian T.
Great place. We walked in about 11:15 for breakfast and although they stop breakfast at 11 they were all about taking care of us they made our breakfast which was great and had excellent service as well great place everyone should try!
(5)Susan W.
A lukewarm smile for this (Mona) Lisa We're new to the area and looking for local places that offer great food and not a lot of tourists. We'd heard a lot of buzz about Lisa's, so we had high hopes. Turns out, not so much, for us anyway. This cute little café is located along Gulf Blvd. It's a nice location for beach goers or those who just love the ocean community. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. She even followed up (twice!) to make sure everything was okay. My only complaint was the food. It was just so-so. My husband had a patty melt and he thought it was meh. I had the fresh grouper and unfortunately it was also meh. Too bad really, I was hoping this would be the little gem that so many told us about. I doubt that we'll be back,
(3)Tiffany J.
(5)Leon G.
Good food.
(4)Lisa L.
Cinnamon French Toast was Da Bomb!!! Seriously, really great breakfast. Very filling and they were able to accommodate our large group. Very clean and the staff was friendly. Would definitely recommend.
(5)Chan V.
I came here because of the reviews. The place was small and reminds me of a beachside bistro. The staff was friendly...super friendly. They served bellini and mimosa for dinner. That's a first time for me because I've always had it for brunch. My bellini tasted like the mimosa. Where was the peach purée? I ordered clam chowder which was a disappointment. It was watered way down like runny skim milk with potatos and clams floating in it. The server said it prepared that way to be healthier. Really???? I had the Neptune Platter with just about everything from the sea on that plate. I wasn't impressed. The crabcake didn't taste fresh and soft shell crabs were salty. The grouper smell bad. I didn't even touch my veggies. It looked messy. I just wasn't feeling the food. My friend had the Lisa's grouper something....it looked like eggs benedict. She was a grouper fan but wasn't feeling that dish either.
(2)Chris M.
Great little place with good coffee, nice people, fast Internet, and comfortable seats. Only one star off as they charged us 4 bucks for a side of 4 tomato slices :/
(4)Mikala G.

We were staying at the Belmar Resort and decided to venture up to Madeira Beach. After reading all the positive reviews on Lisa's Café, we decided to stop by for an early lunch. Upon entering the café, we were greeted by Lisa (the owner). We were asked if we wanted a table or a booth, we opted for a booth. After seating, Lisa gave us 2 menus and said everything is FRESHLY made. No frozen food. My wife decided on the crab cake burger and I selected the Lisa's burger. Both were fantastic. The crab cake was tasty and the burger was made exactly the way I wanted (FRESH ground beef not frozen). The coleslaw was fresh as well. We got free coffee refills the entire time and the service was excellent. It looks like they are celebrating their 3 years celebration. Their all day $2 mimosas and $3 appetizer (Sat, Sun, Mon) all Summer long. Their $30 for 2 meals "early bird" specials look great as well. If I live nearby, I would visit this wonderful cafe again and again.

(5)Joan H.
My daughters and granddaughter were lucky enough to find Lisa's Café excellent experience I suggest you try it. Every meal we had and the wine was fantastic!!
(5)Tom D.
(4)Kara C.
(4)Mark M.
Breakfast was so good that we almost ate here every morning! If it's a beautiful day, I encourage you to eat outside. The service was excellent and the food was delicious!!! I had a spinach and feta omelette served with a side of strawberries, with an additional side order of corned beef hash. Unbelievable!
(5)Kelly H.
While staying at the Post Card Inn in St. Pete Beach we ventured to Madeira Beach in search of a good dinner. We found a GREAT dinner at Lisa's Cafe, from the dipping oil for the bread to the Creme Brûlée. The owner, Lisa, is on hand to explain the menu and you can tell that she takes pride in every dish. The onion rings were excellent, the filet was cooked exactly as I ordered and the grouper with the crab cake on top was amazing.
(5)Miranda M.
(5)R M.
(4)Robin B.
(4)Ronnie B.
(4)Jan F.
Lisa is great - enthusiastic about the food in her restaurant. We had the grouper, clams and crab mac and cheese-excellent! A definite place to go- we will go back.
(5)Melinda B.
Staff was pleasant and friendly! We sat outside under an umbrella for brunch and it was great! Food was freshly prepared and visually appealing. My friends loved the omelets they had and my breakfast croissant with provolone, bacon and egg was perfect!
(5)Brooke H.
Great food. We ate there during a trip to St. Petersburg. The espresso-crusted filet and crab cakes are not to be missed. My husband loved the crab mac-n-cheese. The owner was there and made sure everyone was happy.
(5)Hadley Z.
We visited Lisa's for lunch one day. The place was dead. Food was pricey for what it is. Service was alright. Burgers are very good here, salads are okay. Overall, food was good but not worth the price. For the three of us at lunch it was around 60$.
(3)Grant R.
Good burger. Not a lot of inside seating so go on a good weather day. A little pricey but decent quality.
(4)Donald H.
What is not to like? Greeted at the door by KLisa, herself..! Cozy, well dcecorated and nice in an upscale way not usually found on the Gul beaches..! Menu is awesome as is the food it touts! My goruper was fresh, tatsy & awesome. as anative of the area I was pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful lewel in the beach crown...! Service wa sgreat and the seelction of fare was very good.
(5)G C.
(5)Kim V.
Poor quality food at a pretty high price...
(1)Matthew C.
(5)Claire L.
not worth coming back for another meal! We gave it a second shot for dinner and it was a disaster - I don't have enough time in my day to list all the disasters - Dont do it!

Good breakfast, friendly service, we would definitely come back. We had biscuits & gravy, omelette with homefries and Bacon. All excellent.

Have already written a review on TripAdvisor after our visit in October 2011. We are heading back this October. Eeehhh!!! Love the gulf!! We live in Salt Lake City, so always a fun change to look at the ocean versus amazing ,beautiful mountains! We are in the process of looking for a beach condo or private cottage to celebrate my ..........60th! Ssshhh!! Any suggestions from visitors or locals would appreciate. Planning on two weeks the first half of October. Thanks. K&R. Ps. Anyone out there interested in doing a trade and spending time in our home in Salt Lake City or our home in St. George,Utah?? Check out the areas and the many and amazing places to see and things to do.

Will we go back?... absolutely!
